Recruitment Principle

The demographic transformation of the PNW demands that we recruit and retain current and future underserved students, faculty, and staff. We will provide work and professional development opportunities for historically underrepresented undergraduate and graduate students through positions as GEs, student workers, community-based fellowships, and interns for various projects. The PNW Just Futures Institute provides students we hire will:

  • Gain applied research and administrative skills
  • Receive training in a diverse set of methodological approaches to racial, environmental, and climate justice
  • Network with leading institutions, social actors, and community organizations invested in these areas of study and advocacy in the region

January 2024 update: The JFI grant wrapped up in 2023, no new opportunities will be available. For any questions, please reach out to jfi@uoregon.edu.
