JFI is generously funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation's Just Futures initiative within the Higher Learning Program. Read more about the initiative and other grantees here.

JFI is a regional platform and partnership between the University of Oregon, Heritage University (Yakama Indian Reservation), University of Idaho (Moscow, ID), and Whitman College (Walla Walla, WA).

JFI is housed within the UO Center for Environmental Futures (CEF). Together with the CEF, JFI seeks to act as a seedbed for public and applied research on the intersections across the environmental humanities and arts, racial justice, and climate justice. Learn more about the CEF here.
